Welcome

Dear faithful and prospective guest

We, Marlis Solèr  and Jean-Louis Villars, are pleased to present to you the tiny and lovely hamlet of Odro (1240 m) with the attached leaflet, in order to remind you of it, or simply to recommend it for recreational holidays in a familiar atmosphere.

Spend a weekend in companionship with the natural environment, hiking, observing the alpine flora and fauna, or just relaxing; something that many stressed people have nearly forgotten.

Taste old Ticino recipes prepared by Marlis, accompanied with a good wine from the local vineyards, draw the secrets from the wood-fired cooking stove, make hay, chop trees, bake bread, enjoy goat’s milk or goat’s cheese, fresh eggs… and… and… and.

We are gently restoring and renovating the houses of the hamlet in an effort to maintain the genuine atmosphere wherever possible, and to memorialize the families that led a hard and sacrificing life fighting for a meager existence. In memorial to these people, we dedicated the little WILDHAY-Museum. Wild hay = term for cutting the grass in the most tiny places on steep and dangerous slopes. In 2006, we donated all objects and the building to the Val Verzasca Museum.

Since 1996, we have managed this little farm here in the Verzasca-Valley and now offer you, even if only for a short time, to share the beautiful and recreational mountains for relaxation, recovery and contemplation.

We look forward to seeing you soon.
